well, two of 'em, actually. i've had two nosebleeds in two days. blech. i get 'em when the air pressure drops unexpectedly. i get 'em when i sneeze a lot/ have a stuffy nose. and sometimes, they just happen for no discernable reason at all. the capillaries in my nose are thin-walled, so i'm used to getting unexpected nosebleeds, but they're still not fun.

random hugs to mmike, strega42, and warpcordova...

not so random hugs to BK, cause i'm sure it mildly sucks to have to be waiting for her husband right now.

i know i'm feeling really depressed right now, but sometimes i wonder if it's really all worth it. i just had yet another family member tell me drugs - paxil and such - are bad for me. well, shit, i know that, but don't y'all think i've *tried* all the alternatives already? ::sniffles:: a crying day today, and i had to not cry in front of the whole d*mn family.

Medications

Sorry, talk to Julie about it, but there is a growing body of medical literature that documents EXACTLY how the medications work - and how NOT medicating a condition that requires medications actually allows permanent damage to occur. Your relatives are espousing an attitude that is little different from the one held people with some mental illnesses were chained up in the yard like dogs by their families. Yes, IF you are responsive to solutions other than medication, that's good for you. But Julie tried everything else, and it's VERY likely that if she wasn't on meds, she wouldn't be around to write books. And while our daughter has had problems due to her medications being 'off', they are STILL less than the problems she was having BEFORE going on medications... And fixing her dose seems to have fixed the problems, for now. Medications are a constant balancing act, but they DO prevent further damage and may even allow healing to occur.
