new friends welcome!

 good morning campers!

i'd like to welcome sarjanya, thumper_montoya, byrondelancy, and palewolfto my friends' list.  

friends, the new folks are all SCA people who play with me in the local barony, although poor thumper has to do it long-distance.

new folks, meet my friends - over there around the tv is karieflybabe, thefourthvine, gillyp, and a bunch of others; they make up the fanfic/fandom portion of the list.  that group chattering about guns and current issues is the baen's bar section - strega42, walkingbear, ratseal, 8bitnintendo, etc... and i have a soldiergrrrland sappersgt, whom i was pointed to via military blogging type stuff.  and then of course, there's the cross-over group: mzmadmike, soldiergrrl & sappersgt, oscagne, and falcongirl are all in the SCA in various other parts of the country, as well as sharing other interests with me.

Erf, it's too early and too noisy for morning. Can't we postpone morning until sometime after lunch?

I'll stay off to the side and listing to the mil-bloggers and the scadians chat while waiting for the next new Baen book.

Well to be honest I don't mind mornings that much anymore and I didn't actually roll out of bed until 6FM. However in sympathy I was awake for short periods around 4:30, and 5 becasue a ferret had woken up and wanted to play.

I agree that quiet mingly type parties are the best. I should point out that growing up when I had parties you could count on at least one person at a time being off to the side reading.

Not to mention you write what should have happened instead of what was put onscreen ;) It does seem like a safe assumption that people who get together to write are also getting together to read too. After all if you just wanted to write/talk but not listen/read you would be running for congress.
