so a few weeks ago, i posted that i had to buy a truck, because the camry was dying a long, drawn-out death. several of you asked that i post pictures of the truck, so here are those pics:
first a walk-around:

i note that i'm having issues parking this monster, since i've never driven a truck before, hah.

as you might be able to guess by the pictures, this is a chevy silverado. it has an extended cab, 6 ft of bed, towing package, 4.3 liter... something. can't remember. but it's 2008, less than 100,000mi on the VIN. it even has a key-fob, woot! and *his* name is Zeke - no sissy-names for *this* truck!
except for the bed length, it had everything i wanted. i will eventually buy a bed-extender, but don't need one right now. of more concern are running boards.
and also, something to distinguish my truck from every other champaigne-colored silverado out there. i was coming out from the walmart the other day, and i thumbed the truck open on the keyfob, and couldn't figure out why the lights weren't flashing like it usually does. i kept thumbing the key-fob, and was worried that the truck had broken something... and then i realized. it wasn't my truck i was watching. it was a truck four slots up from mine in the parking lot, and *absolutely identical* to mine, right down to the Z71 sticker on the back. sheesh.
so.... i thought about bumper stickers, which is usually how my cars are distinguished from other cars, but Zeke is so nice and clean. finally i decided to put one of these in the window, or something like that.
i also pulled a harvest from the ground - well, containers - this year, which is more than i've done in years past. this is what i've got:

i'm kind of giggling over here, because it took the whole damned year to grow those carrots. and we ended up throwing them out, because, well. i want thefourthvine's garden. it'd be more fun to have things that grow instead of things that die, methinks, lol.
i still need to post about the progress on house and garden, and abbie, and the trip to germany and portland earlier this year. i also took some pictures of the christmas project this year - i did pater nosters for the blood family - thought they came out pretty well, and that people might like to see them.
