I went to the Nutcracker yesterday,
put on by the Mobile City Ballet.
A hundred little girls,
hair in bright bows and tiny curls,
spinning round in pretty dresses,
eyes wide as saucers watching
pas de deuxs across the stage,
proclaiming:
'Daddy, I want to dance!'

Dressed in wine-dark gown and beaded shawl,
a bit of sparkle in my hair.
The music in my head, wings rushing in air,
math the romance in my heart,
content to watch
the hundred little ballerinas,
a pas de deux across the stage.
I am singing:
'Daddy!  I've learnt to dance!'

not bad.:) But I have no way to criticize, comment on or analyze poetry other than that.

*grins* that's ok, i don't really know how to write poetry. besides which, it's one of those mediums where you either like the result, or don't. analyzing it doesn't do much good.

Nice. Glad you enjoyed the performance. Always a pleasure to see a Christmas tradition.
