late happy easter!

so, i was kinda wiped this weekend, and did pretty much nothing but stitch and read and spend money, heh.  it was a good weekend in it's way.

i was wiped yesterday, too, or i would have reported a comment my mother made over the phone:

'hi boogie, just wishing you happy easter!  it's a little rainy here, but we're having everyone over today and expect to have a good time!'  most of you may not remember, but my parents, sibs, and the kids all live in madison county, IL, which is just across the river from st louis, MO.  we'd been having pretty nice weather down here in coastal alabama, so i got curious and turned on the weather channel.  i was expecting normal spring floods.

then she mentioned that one of my nephews was riding his older sister's bike and had some sort of accident that did a number on his finger.  so being the kind, loving, interested aunt i was, i asked if she had pictures to show me so i could gross out my friends.  she probably rolled her eyes at me, but she sent me these, anyway:

ah, i love being the crazy aunt!  nephew's mom is an RN, and i think she has 'better' (ie, grosser) pictures somewhere, but these were the ones mom took with her cell phone.  sometimes i love that woman!


and that's my life this week.

me too! i gather Sam wasn't happy about unwrapping his hand for me - oops! i was thinking his mother, who is an RN, might have the *real* gory pics. no luck, tho. still, now he's got a story to tell. he'll be fine.
