a sort-of haiku

bitter mountain bones
a beautiful, brutal thing.
You can see i've inverted the last two lines to form a 5-5-7, instead of a 5-7-5 syllable poem. it better fit the imagery in my head. whenever i think of the landscape around Las Cruces, the phrase 'a beautiful, brutal thing' now comes to mind.
