feeling a tad patriotic today...

Was listening to one of my more favorite patriotic songs this morning.  It’s the one where the refrain goes:

 

And I’m proud to be an American,

Where at least I know I’m free –

And I won’t forget the men who died

Who gave that right to me.

And I’d gladly stand up! Next to you

And defend her still today –

There ain’t no doubt I love this land –

God bless the USA!

 

Hmmm.  It looks so corny typed up.  Still true, tho.  Sometimes I wish I could over to Iraq and Afghanistan and be on the front lines, ‘stead of stuck here in design land.  ::Glares at Dad::  Why didn’t you give me a Y-chromosome instead?

in other news, my SCA group had a baronial pop. meeting last night.  my deputy herald, Seann, aka 'Bubble-Boy' is alive and well - yay!  he's planning to fight again this year at Gulf Wars.  the barony is planning to line his armor with bubble-wrap.  and his tent.  and his sleeping bag.  and probably his eating knife, too.  

my sadistic streak sort of wants to get Bubble-Boy and RatSeal together to trade 'no shit, there i was' stories.  and yet, my practical intuition tells me that if they actually met and started talking, the world would implode in an attempt to keep their respective track records up.  that would probably be a bad thing.  so maybe i should keep them apart at all costs...

nah... i'll just make sure i have front-row seat on the ISS, complete with popcorn and beer before i watch the show. ::grins::
