... especially because it started out with an intensely erotic dream.  this dream was soooo hot,i kept trying to go back to sleep.  it was so hot, i'm not gonna repeat the details here, because the internetz will have a total meltdown.  let's just say it involved a porn film shoot, erotic jewelry, and me banging Jared and Jensen.  eat your hearts out, SPN fangirls!

once i managed to drag myself out of bed, i grabbed the stuff for Goodwill,( which included 2 boxes of clothes, a leather briefcase and purse, and a circular saw of all things), and the firehouse's cookies and set off.  and promptly did not find the Goodwill store. i motored around a bit, and decided to drop off the cookies and check if i had gotten turned out re the Goodwill store somehow.  two grateful men at the firehouse received said cookies and shook my hand, and gave me directions to the store - which was on the other side of the road than i had been looking.  of course.  :-p  back down the blvd i go, find the Goodwill store, drop off de stuff, and come on back up.

since i had time and motivation, i decided to check out a couple local stores.  the Southeastern Salvage store was... awesome.  they had all kinds of stuff, and yes, a lot of it was rescued building materials.  they had 4 sets of solid Tiki doors from Bali, each for $1300 - i'm not sure if that's a good deal or not, but the oversized doors were beautiful, and i know tiki wood in that quantity is expensive.  they also had huge mirrors in carved wood mirror frames, and other things you'd expect to find in a store like that.  i almost walked out with a $12 lamp shade, but i decided i should measure the one i had, first.  there were also things like bed linens, outdoor chair pads, benches, etc.  they had one kitchen in the kitchen section with solid oak cabinets and a beautifully finished solid oak counter-top, which had obviously been a rough cut side-to-side from a wide-ish tree.  yeah, i'm going back there at some point, if only to get cheapish beautiful frames for my needlework....

then, i went to check out the Antique and Estate Sale store... which isn't open on mondays, it turns out - oops.

back up to get something to eat - was going to go to a sports bar, because i felt like lunch, but it was 10.45, and only the denny's was open, so denny's it was.  burger and fries, and it was good.

then i went shopping for some odds and ends i needed.

i went first to staples, because i'm starting to research a new computer desk.  i checked out software while i was there.  and staples may have that... but they don't have much at all of that.  i was disappointed.  ah, well.

then, walmart, where i picked up zip ties, craft scissors, a new cutting board (i get cheap wooden cutting boards and replace them every year, because i read somewhere that that's better for you than keeping the same board - even a plastic board - year after year), blue pens (grandma managed to write half a check this year - must have been distracted, heh), some labels for some organizing folders, water!, and a couple of small expensive organic juice bottles to see if i like the juice.  i was going to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies, but i looked at what they had, and decided 'not here!'

i ended up going to fresh market, which is an organic grocery store.  i'm not sure if they do only local farmers, but i am sure they have fantastic stuff, and items like a bulk coffee bar (yum!), bulk candy bar, bulk grains, nuts, etcs (and can i just say, i think whoever came up with green bean 'chips' is completely nuts? i'm all for eating better, but really...).  it's expensive stuff, but it's also quality, so... i bought fresh fruits, veggies, and a couple of trail mix packages, so i'm good for healthy snacks for a bit.

and that was my day today.

Yay for erotic dreams! And that's some tasty fodder you had there. BTW, those tiki doors sound awesome. I've been drooling over a couple of antique Spanish doors for a few years now but they're redonkulously expensive, around $5000 and massive. A girl can want, though!

*grins* that was such an awesome dream...

and i made a mistake up there - it's teak, not tiki - wonder how long it will take for people to notice? but you're right about the drool-factor, these guys had it too. those doors - i wanted to buy them an keep them till i had a use for them! times like that i wish i had a castle to keep those impressive artifacts, in, eh?

tell you what, i'll build the castle, and you and i can fill it up with awesome items like the teak and Spanish doors we like. :-D remind me to build all way-oversize door-frames, hah!

Ah, no worries. My brain totally filled in teak for tiki and I even spelled it wrong, too.

Speaking of erotic, there was discussion about the Mag7 and their kinks on the Daybook. It gave me a lot of ideas and was good to get other perspectives on what is WRONG (or so right, uhn) with our boys, lol. You might enjoy the reading material. ;)
