i'm finally done with the Vin-dog on my mag7 doggies stitch. i'm both happy and sad - happy, because he looks great. sad, because i don't want to stop stitching, but i have other obligations i must spend my time on. *sigh*.
anyway, the original version by Sunset is here, and here is the glorious stitching:
so i sized that as a thumbnail, and you can click to peruse the bigger pic (it's 300dpi scan that turned out to be about 2M). but yes, those beads on Vin's belt are called bugle beads - they're shorter than the ones i usually see/use, but they work. those light blue beads in his eyes match Eric Close's pretty well, but they're also a bit spooky. i haven't decided if i really like them yet. note the 'bandanna' - which is really a scrap of ribbon that's already starting to fray. i'm not sure if it will stay together throughout the stitching process. i hope so.
next up on this piece is the buck-dog - i've already got darker blue beads for his eyes, and i know his hat is brown... but i'm not sure what else to do to modify him. a flower in his mouth for the ladies, maybe. :) actually, i kind of like that - and it will give me a chance to practice ribbon embroidery or something. hmmm.... *plans*
anyway, i know a lot of people have been waiting for this guy for a while, so i thought i'd show it off.
