in fact, i have issues with my issues. my Cross Stitch Gold magazine Issues, as a matter of fact.
CS-Gold is a magazine i dearly love - the designs are usually very nice and complicated, and big, and detailed, all of which hit my kink in terms of cross-stitching. no, what i have issues with is how the individual issues are identified.
most magazines have some combination of a date stamp, unique issue number, and title. so you get your favorite hobby porn and see the title 'Woodworking for Bobbleheads, Issue 543, Jan 2010', and this is in the title block of every magazine of Woodworking for Bobbleheads you get. and the numbers don't repeat - there's only one issue of 543 out there. and if there's a typo, and in feb, you got a clearly different issue than 543, but it *says* it's 543, well usually, there's also the Feb 2010 to clear that up for you.
CS Gold? their original front page title block has just the issue number on it. 'Cross stitch Gold, Issue 17'. or Issue 18. at some point, they have a title block change, and add the date stamp on there so issue 37, Jun 2008. and this is ok, until they reach the issue after their big birthday issue - issue 50. because the very next issue, they started re-numbering! only, they didn't start renumbering at '1'. they started re-numbering at '2'. So i have CS Gold Issue 50, Oct 2007, and CS Gold, Issue 2, Dec 2007 (they come out 2mos apart).
who thought this was a good idea? seriously? i have 2 issue 16,17,18... 25. the only reason i don't have more 'double issues' is because the latest issue 25 was the latest issue. i'm a collector. i'm OCD about my collections. this is driving me absolutely *bonkers*!!
someone, give me a gun. or at least, a garrote. i totally want to strangle someone...
