and why does 'wednesday' look like it's spelled wrong today? i dunno. anyway, last night, i came home from work to find the sidewalk in front of my building ripped up, and prepping in place to pour a new one. as i pulled up to 'my' spot, i saw a little note taped to my door, and figured that they didn't want me to park in front of the building, so i found a nearby alternative spot.
so, i walked up to my door, and noticed that the guys had moved some of my containers around in order to have room to do their thing with the sidewalk. since i deliberately made everything move-able just in case they needed to work on something, this was just fine with me. however, when i saw the two pots that would have been closest to the sidewalk sitting (upright, not chipped) off to the side, i found myself wondering where their stands were. i kinda looked around the area, and thought, 'i bet they moved the stands to the back, there's not a whole lot of room in front here.'
so i went into my apt, and through to the back door, and looked at the little yardlet back there. i looked carefully, knowing that i have a tendency to miss things in plain sight at the best of times. no plant stands. huh. 'i wonder what they did with the stands? well, the office is open, maybe they decided to move them there to keep an eye on them. i could always go and ask...'
and then something occurred to me. '^%$^$%! those pots don't *have* plant stands, dummy - i sat them on the ground!'
