so i was on my userinfo page today, to check on some blogs less frequently posted to, and i noticed... a new name in the 'friend of' category! am i the only one who finds such things mildly disorienting? especially when i don't immediately recognize the name.

so i went to the blog to see what i could see, and now i think i recognize this old coot - er, geek :). dexter, right? musket who walks like a man?

*g* Nope; I'm a little disconcerted also when it happens to me. It's also confusing because LJ names are not always the same as list names; I may 'know' the person, but not the name. I also wonder why all these people read my journal. Oh, well, it is a free country, and there's always friends-lock if we want restrict a particular post.

yeah; i usually sign my list-posts as spacecadet or spacey, tho i'm aware the name that shows up is my real name. the lj name is my bar-handle.

i'm not the only one who's so wildly different, either. i got a friend who's 'dogzard' on the bar, and 'thearmsman' on lj.
