spring cleaning in the fall

so, this weekend being full of rain, and also the first time i've had in a long time to stay home and not do something related to investiture, i decided to do some spring cleaning.  and not just because my Dad is coming in this weekend.  this past August was a lot of fun, putting together my presents for investiture.  but it left the house kind of a mess, and i was just at the point i really needed to clean it up.

so this weekend, i:

built another cubicle storage unit
organized my fabric stash and put it away
did the toilets, mirrors, and counters in both bathrooms
did the bathtub upstairs
vaccuumed upstairs
filed bills
filed cross-stitch mags and put old ones upstairs
laundered my bedlinnens
shopped for food
shopped for new fabric for the chair cushion for the chair upstairs (turned out i didn't like the gold stuff i'd bought)
made hamburger soup
bought a new steam mop
dishes
pitched a bunch of trash that had accumulated (which seems to be a never-ending job)
hung up clothes and re-assembled my gym bag
laundered all the clothes that went to Investiture with me

still left to do:
vac downstairs
mop the tiles in the bathrooms
finish laundering the couch slipcover

i've decided not to recover the couch with the slip-cover for a while.  when i took it off, i kind of liked the original fabric in these new surroundings, so we'll see if i like it long enough to pitch the slipcover entirely.  *shrugs*

am looking forward to firing up the old comp, too.  next weekend, possibly, but it'll probably fall by the wayside this upcoming weekend.
