the road goes ever on and on
Aug. 5th, 2010 07:42 pmok, so things are going ok, except i seem to be sleeping a lot. not sure why. however, i like the company my former employer put me in touch with, Lee Hecht Harris - even though they are not local, they've been very responsive and supportive. They have all kinds of resources for the unemployed, and a large database of jobs mined by both employers and job-seekers. anyway, i'm totally pimping them for anyone who is in a similar unemployed, underemployed, or looking for a new place position.
my parents, parents' friends, and my own friends continue to be helpful in keeping an eye out for likely prospects/people/ads - thank you!
in other news, i'm doing 'research' for my Xander in Four Corners fic by watching a lot of Buffy. :-D but i need to get a DVD cleaning DVD, cause the player's acting up a bit. however, it does mean i'm being inspired to write more on the story. it stalled for a bit, but thanks to Sidial, i've got past that. my writing stalled not because i couldn't see the scenes play out in my head, but because the flow of words randomly dried up. stress? possibly. i tend to doubt depression as a cause because last time i was depressed, i was very productive. or maybe it's different every time, i don't know. but it's working again, so i'm good.

i'm also paying attention to my garden again, although right now it's mostly to rip the darn thing out because 3 weeks of ignoring it in drought conditions have done a serious number on it. i even managed to kill the mint. the plants i have left are the sweet potatoes and regular potatoes in front, the lavendar, peat moss, bird of paradise (?), in back. everything else gets ripped up and dumped in back where... 'volunteers' from previous gardens are doing just fine. :-p
that's the state of the boogie today.
