got some planting done!

last night, i got started on the seed starts for the garden.  i looked at the back of the packages for planting times, and decided to plant chives, sage, onions, and beets.  they should all come up in 7-14 days, if all goes well, and this will give the weather some time to warm up before i move on to the outdoor portion of the gardening thing.  i can't wait, i'm so excited - i *love* watching things grow. :-D

speaking of which - has anyone grown sweet potatoes/ yams before?  can you grow them from 'eyes' like regular potatoes, or should i send away for seed?  i can't find sweet potatoes in my local stores, so i'll have to send away, i think. 

i did a first editing pass on Green Day the other day - basic spelling errors and phrase fixing.  i need to do the second, 'put more thinking into it' pass this weekend.  that pass will be where i fix tone in scenes, add or delete details as needed.  then i'll put it up, and look at blackraptor's rules for uploading, and d'n'f's FAQ to see if i can upload the corrected version there, too.
