happy 4th

a little late, but let me wish the nation (USA) a happy birthday.

we found out today that a co-worker got called up today. she's maybe 5 feet tall, maybe 100lbs soaking wet. i have mixed feelings about this.

i'm sad for her because she's just out of college, just got a job (started working with us a month ago), and it's gotta be tough being uprooted right now when she's just settling in.

i'm *not* sad for her because she signed up for the reserves, and this is something you have to be prepared for when you sign up for military, reserves, or NG.

i'm proud of her.

i'm jealous of her, because even though my personal limitations preclude me from the military, sometimes i wish i could go.
