comments and questions
Apr. 2nd, 2006 07:59 amthose of you who know me, know that i am a total cross-stitch whore, and wince in sympathy (or is that grimace what happens when you try not to laugh at me?) when i lose control over myself at hobby lobby.
at any rate, up till now, i've worked entirely on aida cloth - i'm not sure why kits never incl evenweave, but they don't. i'm just starting a band sampler and bought 28 ct evenweave for it. it doesn't seem to be stitching as smoothly as people have suggested it should... does anyone have any suggestions?
the next question pertains to my living conditions down here in NOLA. i need both indoor and outdoor solutions to the absolute mess of bugs down here. doug tells me they do spray periodically for the skeeters, but i don't know how often that is, nor have i learned how to tell when it's going to be. the sheer amount of buggies is making me a little batty. i prefer non-toxic solutions, both because my own system is so sensitive, and because my next door neighbor wants an organic garden - and he cooks well!
for example, i was considering getting a birdhouse sized for a skeeter-eater. maybe some pitcher plants. BK suggested citronella candles. what else?
::hugs and kisses to all. (except EOQ, who gets fawning obeisances from the dancing mare in hopes of pats and carrots. i live to serve, o queen.)::
