ok, so have some pics of my birthday cake:

and for you mag7 peoples, i took some pictures also of my chris-dog in the mag7 doggies pattern:

the empty parts, like in the hat, are areas where i ran out of floss before i got to those stitches.  i'll fill 'em in when i next use that color - i hate wasting thread, and the stitch and park method doesn't seem to be working very well for this guy.

i used little silver flower-beads for the silver conchos on his gun rig and belt, and in the eye, i used a green bead, instead of the white french knot the pattern calls for.  beyond the fact that i hate french knots, i really think the green just pops against the dog. :-D  the other major change i made to the pattern, i made long before this:  turning the gun-rig black, and the gun-handle ivory instead of shades of brown for both.  i really like how chris came out. 

the little bit of shading to the right of chris is the start of vin.  i'm putting this pattern away till after christmas, but he's next to do, and i'm already trying to decide what his mods are going to be.  the pattern has his hat pink, i think, and i'm going to turn it brown.  i know he needs a medicine bag of some kind.  i don't recall if he has a bandana, but if he does, i need to make sure it's red.
